oh hay thar friends.
anyone else in the Maryland/DC area? this is crazy! i thought i moved south away from upstate new york to get away from this crap!
So far since friday, all schools have been closed, all government buildings, etc. We got 28 inches of snow, and now since yesterday evening, about 10 more and counting WITH a layer of sleet and ice right in the middle which happened in the wee hours. Needless to say, I am home from work for my 4th snow day since friday... and my classes have been canceled all week.
It's been an interesting week though, being snowed in for several days with my friends who live in the building next door. Just us, some good convo, and several bottles of wine. (We stocked up accordingly.)
It really is hilarious though to see Maryland react to this. Growing up a few hours south of Montreal, I myself am tired of snow and wish to never see it again. I'll have to move farther south for that! The supermarkets have been stripped of bread, milk, and toilet paper. What do these people do!? How long do they think they are going to be stuck inside!? Do they simply make sandwiches with a glass of milk and visit the privy all day? Silly... As it stands I'm still living south of Baltimore, and meanwhile my family back in NY has hardly any snow at all..... it's backwards!
So here i sit stuck for pretty sure another day or two, revisiting websites i haven't been at in a while, and starting another sculpture today. Hope you are all well, safe, and prosperous. And Nina G, the east coast misses your voice!
