Shhh - quiet board

So yesterday I was recovering with a stiff mixed drink after having shoveled a metric ton of snow from my driveway... twice... and I was reminiscing about old times on the Nina board. I know. I know! There's no need to get nasty with me. Anyway, I was remembering those late night texting sessions we used to have with Stevie and Nina and Delise and Kelly and Lauren and Nick... Good times! I was always SO TIRED the next day at work, but anyway it was fun. And I recall meeting Nina a year or so later at the Paradise and being so starstruck I could hardly get a word out of my mouth. Sigh. In retrospect, I probably should have bought you and your BF a drink, Nina. Years later I went out to LA to see Kay and Mike play at Spaceland and ran into Nina again. Sadly, the starstruck thing sorta happened again and once again I neglected to buy you a drink. Oh and my camera didn't work, so my photos from that night were lost. I can't believe that was nearly 6 years ago now! I really need to go back to LA for another visit.

Where is all of this going? I dunno. But it would be good to see you again Nina. Next time I promise to be more of a gentleman. kiss

Oh and also I miss this little community. If any of the old 1999-2000 crew is still around, I offer you a cheery hello!

I started lurking in 2002-ish and finally joined in 2003, so I don't quite fit in your list of "old schoolers" but I totally agree with your post.

I remember randomly clicking on the wildly unused "Chat" button and wandering in to a room with Nina and Sasha chatting away. It's not quite the same as being starstruck from seeing Nina in a bar, but it might be as close as I'm gonna get by living in Northern Ireland haha.

P.S. We need to get Stevie back on here more, I'll bug him about it the next time I catch him on msn (maybe he can post about his carepackage Shocked

hahaha).

god was it really 1999-2000 - that actually scares me to think I've been coming to the same website/message board for 10 years! Well, not exactly the same site, but many different incarnations of the same site, pink, green, warners, not, etc etc!

I do miss those random times when people would be in the chat room, talking crap for hours and hours!

Travis - how could you forget him from the list, he was certainly a character of the old-schoolers - always causing trouble somehow. and Bobbie, oh and tim and tam!

i do come here still everyday, its almost a habit that is impossible to break!

Did Travis ever go on chat? I don't remember that. But I do remember Bobbie being on once and Lamont too - remember him? I remember missing some of the sessions, though. It was usually the middle of the night for me and probably the next morning for you, Stevie. Bobbie was a whole day ahead of us I think. Grin

Daria was awesome too! She sent me some TimTams from Australia. Cool

Yep I miss those days. I still check out the board every week. This was the first 'net community I ever really got into, so there's some real nostalgia going on over here. The coolest part of the Nina community is that we were truly worldwide. I remember going on and on talking about you guys with my friends back home and they thought I was nuts! Well in retrospect, they were probably right. lips sealed

I haven't logged in to the board in ages! It was nice to see this thread upon my return. What a stroll down memory lane! I loved the old board, but the chat room was even more awesome. For you guys it was late night chats, for me it was mid-afternoon on my days off uni! I remember chatting with Delise, digitalmoof/spork, Stevie, Nick, lamont and you Christobal. Do you remember when Nick was missing some letters on his keyboard but he used to enter the chatroom and find really creative ways to spell whatever he was trying to type? Haha! I definitely miss those chats. Unfortunately I finished uni and had to get a job which put an end to my disposable time.

That was back when Nick was still tendrils, before he went on a self-imposed banning from the board. Remember when Delise would put up webcam shots of her face in that blue mask? She was the BLUE HORNET! Grin

i'm still here too. oh wait, this is ciara. i don't know what happened to my original username (passionfruit, i think?). i come back every month or two to check in these days. compare that to the heyday of my board usage, checking at least 5-10x daily and posting almost as much. wowsers. what happened to meg (gem)? i totally remember spork, who sent me a mix cd (or was it even a tape?) and i never reciprocated. i feel like i grew up with y'all on this board, a sort of satellite high school experience. the cool kids were: gem, sasha, mark, travis. everyone else was just nerdy or awkward or both Grin

haha... seems like some crazy times. I didn't join til 2003ish, i think this is my second name. My funniest memory was when Nina made that April Fools demo and like half the board actually thought it was her new material.. "Oh Nina! I love it!" "Wow..the new material is.... different!" I was sitting there like.... this is an 80's Kylie track. Haha! What a hoot. I can't believe it's been what 2.5 years since BHG? Already!? Stop the hourglass! Cheesy

Anyway hope you are all well. I moved from NY to Maryland a month ago and I am LOVING this "NO SNOW" thing. My hometown in NY sits buried and I've seen a total of one inch of snow here since Christmas! Good riddance! Grin
